Lolo Jones Dominates 100m Hurdles

Four years ago Lolo Jones watched the final of the 100m Hurdles knowing her dreams of going to Athens ended when she crashed into hurdle nine of her semifinal heat. Having endured hardships of not having a shoe contract and working three jobs to support herself, Jones looked ahead four years and set her sights on Beijing. Now, after crushing the field in both rounds at the Olympic Trials, she is on her way to Beijing. Jones' time of the 12.45sec in the semifinal is the fastest time in the world this year and a new PB by .11sec. If that wasn't impressive enough, Jones stunned the crowd with her 12.29sec run in the final , tying the second fastest time ever run in any conditions. First out of the blocks, Jones ran a flawless race, winning by an astonishing .29sec.

Amy Acuff Headed To Beijing After 2nd Place Finish In The High Jump

Amy Acuff is on her way to Beijing after qualifying for her fourth Olympic Team. Acuff was in a groove jumping very well early, clearing 1.79m, 1.84m, 1.89m, 1.91m, and 1.93m on her first attempt. Acuff's first miss came at 1.95m and she then passed to 1.97m where she missed twice. Overall, Acuff finished in second place with a best clearance of 1.93m.

Sharon Day's Remarkable Season Continues

Over the past 6 weeks, Sharon Day has dominated the Big West Conference in the High Jump and Heptathlon, placed second at the NCAA Championships, graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and joined ASICS as its newest Elite Team member. Now she is on her way to Beijing after placing third in the Women's High Jump clearing 1.91m.

Having already secured the Olympic A standard earlier this season, Day needed to finish in the top 3 in order to get on the plane headed for Beijing in August. Passing on the opening height of 1.79m, Sharon cleared 1.84m on her first attempt and 1.91m on her second and held on to the third spot and will join Amy Acuff on the High Jump Team in Beijing.

Suzy Powell Secures Her Spot On 2008 Team

American record holder Suzy Powell-Roos threw the discus 62.92m/206-5 on her fourth attempt and will be on her way to Beijing to her third Olympic Games. After 3 rounds, Suzy was in fourth place before unleashing her best throw catapulting her to 2nd place. Suzy is the fourth ASICS Track & Field athlete to earn a spot on this year's Olympic Team joining Marathoner's Ryan Hall and Deena Kastor and Heptathlete Diana Pickler.

Diana Pickler Leads Team ASICS In Day 2 Of US Olympic Trials

On a very hot day in Eugene's storied Hayward Field, Diana Pickler ran a personal best in the 800m to earn her ticket to Beijing. With a spot on the Olympic Team on the line, Pickler's time of 2:16.59 was within the 1.5 seconds she needed to finish ahead of the fourth place finisher to secure her spot on the team. Along the way, Diana set a new personal best for the 7 event discipline with 6257 points.
